Child Safety & Wellbeing

The East Gippsland Performing Arts Eisteddfod (EGPAE) is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children and young people.

We have established a Child Safety & Wellbeing Policy and a series of supporting procedures that explain how we work to keep children safe, and how we respond to any concerns raised by children, parents, teachers, or others.

Key points of our Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy:

  • Every child has the right to feel safe, supported, and respected while participating in the Eisteddfod.

  • Any person who believes a child is at immediate risk of harm should contact Police on 000, and also inform a member of the EGPAE Committee or the Child Safety Person.

  • All EGPAE committee members and volunteers are required to hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC).

  • All volunteers and committee members must complete a child safety induction and agree to follow our Code of Conduct.

  • EGPAE has clear procedures for reporting and managing child safety concerns and will take prompt action in response to any allegation or complaint.

  • If an investigation finds that an offence or breach has occurred, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken, which may include removal from EGPAE duties or referral to relevant authorities.

We are proud to be a Child Safe Organisation.
